*Required pre-trip briefing on 27 March at 1600 at Outdoor Rec
The best way to experience the backcountry in the winter is to stay at a backcountry hut. The backcountry hut system name honors the men of 10th Mountain Division of the U.S. Army, who trained during World War II at Camp Hale in central Colorado. Hut visitors share the special spirit of these individuals, especially their pursuit of excellence, self-reliance, and love of the outdoors. These huts book up a year in advance through a lottery system and Buckley Outdoor Rec has a whole hut just for Buckley!
