Family Child Care (FCC) providers are caring, thoughtful, military spouses who have gone through extensive background checks, training and inspections. Care is provided out of the home and care is limited to six children at any given time.
All providers are trained in:
- First Aid/CPR
- Child Development
- Health/Safety
- Recognizing Child Abuse/Neglect
FCC providers care for children of all ages and abilities. They accept children at various developmental stages and have individually appropriate activities and equipment for each child.
Extended Duty Care
Buckley now has Extended Duty Care for mission related work! In an effort to meet the needs of Active Duty personnel, the FCC Program offers extended care for longer hours, evenings, overnight, weekends and temporary shift change not to exceed three days. Families who are currently enrolled in the Child Development Centers, Family Child Care or School Age Program are eligible for extended duty care.
Interested in becoming a Family Child Care Provider?
At minimal cost to you, you can operate your own home-based business, set your own hours, be with your own children, and care for other children – with USAF Family Child Care.
Already in place in more than 3,000 homes on 80 installations worldwide, the FCC staff will train and help you provide responsible, safe, in-home care for children ages 2 weeks to 14 years (including your own children) in your own government home or affiliated off-base home.

Subsidy is available!
Subsidies for child care are available, depending on Total Family Income (TFI). Providers have access to the FCC Resource Center for safety items, cribs, cots, toys, games, outdoor equipment, and general supplies. Having these resources available to providers greatly assists providers and eliminates the need for higher fees.
